Mr. Munetaka Nemoto
President & CEO
Joytam Co., Ltd.(Kazuno City, Akita Prefecture)
Manufacturer of control panels, distribution boards, switchboards, and electrical harnesses
Last November Zuitt had no track record. What convinced you to host its very first cohort?
...I’d long been interested in the Engineer/Specialist visa. Two things clinched it—trust in CEO Mr. Kato, founder of RareJob, and Zuitt’s commitment to language training. Outsourcing that bottleneck was huge.
Many SME leaders worry about ① language, ② quick turnover to big cities, ③ staff push-back. Your view?
Language: With AI translation, native fluency is an outdated requirement.
Turnover: Japanese staff switch jobs too—raise company value and pay, and people stay.
Staff push-back: We’ve already succeeded with foreign workers; a one-day trial erases most fears.
What rural-specific onboarding tactics—commute, housing—are you using?
We’d used vacant-house grants before. Now we’re building a 10-unit apartment next to the plant and covering half the rent—living close to work is best when you have no car.

Mr. Yosuke Morishita
President & CEO
Morishita Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Ōhira Village, Miyagi Prefecture)
Manufacturer of production equipment for beverage, sake, and food factories
Why did you decide to try hiring foreign engineers?
...Ōhira Village was running out of young talent—there were virtually no candidates who could handle CAD or even basic PC tasks. When we were introduced to Zuitt students, graduates of engineering universities eager to work in Japan, I instinctively felt “This is it!”
What surprised you the most during the 1-day internship experience?
They assembled parts quickly and with precision. Then they started teaching others. During the factory tour, they asked pointed questions like “How do you manage cost?” and “What’s the scalability of this machine?”—showing surprising initiative.
What made you decide to increase from two to five hires?
We have four veteran employees reaching 65 in four years. Considering generational change, hiring and training five at once seemed the most logical. Compared to the cost and time of recruiting skilled Japanese engineers one by one, this was more rational.
Any message to other manufacturing leaders facing similar challenges?
Stagnation equals decline. If you can't find local talent, try even just a 1-day internship. Zuitt students often show more Japanese-like diligence than Japanese themselves—they’ll bring new energy to your team.

Mr. Ikkei Yamauchi
Director
Yamauchi Matex HD Co., Ltd. (Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture)
Manufacturing and sales of round and dissimilar wires made of titanium and other non-ferrous and precious metals; processing and sales of metal materials for eyeglasses
What led you to learn about Zuitt, and what made you decide to consider using it?
...I first encountered Zuitt when I attended a seminar held by CEO Kato through an industry association I belong to. I was strongly attracted to the system that enables direct matching with students and started considering it as a new option for securing high-quality engineers. Additionally, Zuitt's unique filtering system that ensures the skill level of students was a key factor in our decision to move forward.
What was especially positive or memorable about the 1-day internship experience?
The candidates’ eagerness and enthusiastic approach to the work were truly striking. Although preparing for the internship was demanding, I was deeply impressed that they physically worked in our production environment and showed a strong interest in our business.
What concerns did you have about foreign engineers, and how were those concerns addressed?
When we previously considered hiring under the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa, the main challenges were “language barriers” and “cultural mismatches.” However, Zuitt’s program provides Japanese language and cross-cultural training before and after joining, which addressed our concerns about a total communication breakdown on-site. Additionally, value-fit surveys and individual interviews conducted during the 1-day internship helped us confirm their cultural compatibility, allowing us to make a confident decision.
